Singolare come in un mondo letteralmente bombardato dall\u2019informazione vi siano talvolta degli eventi di primaria importanza che passano sotto silenzio o vengono appena riportati di sfuggita dai media.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00c8 il caso di una notizia in grado di far letteralmente balzare sulla sedia tutti coloro che, giustamente preoccupati dal costo crescente dell\u2019energia \u2013 il grande problema del XXI secolo \u2013 ed avendo a cuore l\u2019equilibro del pianeta, auspicano il ricorso a fonti di energia naturali e non inquinanti.
Ebbene, nonostante che lo scorso 19 luglio, in un hangar dell\u2019aereoporto di Santa Monica in California – alla presenza del Governatore Arnold Schwarzenegger – sia stato presentato un veicolo destinato con tutta probabilit\u00e0 a cambiare il volto del trasporto su ruote, cos\u00ec come oggi lo conosciamo, sono stati veramente pochi i mezzi d\u2019informazione che hanno dedicato alla notizia lo spazio che meritava.
La Tesla Motors ha infatti presentato una potente vettura sportiva in grado di viaggiare ad oltre 200 chilometri l\u2019ora, raggiungendo i 100 orari in soli 4 secondi. Prestazioni gi\u00e0 di tutto rispetto se parliamo di una normale vettura sportiva ma eccezionali visto che abbiamo di fronte un veicolo totalmente elettrico, ad emissioni zero (non ha neppure il tubo di scappamento), di assoluta silenziosit\u00e0, e per di pi\u00f9 con una autonomia di circa 400 chilometri.
Quello della Tesla car \u00e8 un progetto da oltre 40 milioni di dollari con degli sponsor d\u2019eccezione come Larry Page e Sergey Brin, padri di Google.
Gi\u00e0 questa non \u00e8 notizia da poco, ma il meglio viene adesso: ebbene, l\u2019automobile del futuro \u2013 le cui prime consegne sono previste per la met\u00e0 del 2007 \u2013 affonda le sue radici nel passato, riportandoci alla memoria quel personaggio straordinario, purtroppo dimenticato dai pi\u00f9, che fu Nikola Tesla.
Fu lui, infatti, il primo a sostituire – nel 1931 – il motore a benzina di una vettura dell\u2019epoca con un motore elettrico di corrente alternata di 80 cavalli, e lo fece, oltretutto, senza una fonte di energia esterna n\u00e9 batterie, installando sull’auto un circuito collegato a distanza ad un’antenna che trasmetteva energia nell’etere.
La vettura aveva anch\u2019essa un\u2019antenna posizionata all\u2019esterno e collegata ad una scatola che si trovava nella parte anteriore del veicolo che \u2013 diversamente dal modello attuale, la Tesla Car, che dispone di batterie ricaricabili – riceveva l\u2019energia da un trasmettitore di energia situato nei pressi delle cascate del Niagara.
A chi gli chiedeva dove fosse la fonte d’energia, Tesla rispondeva che essa era “nell’etere intorno noi”. Egli riusc\u00ec effettivamente a sfruttare il campo magnetico che avvolge la Terra ed a convogliarlo verso il veicolo, o meglio, fece in modo di amplificare l’energia che \u00e8 presente nell’aria per spingerla verso un dato oggetto. Il progetto non fu divulgato all\u2019epoca e di questa invenzione \u2013 cos\u00ec come delle altre – si appropri\u00f2 alla sua morte il governo degli Stati Uniti, che pose su molti progetti del geniale inventore \u2013 si era in piena seconda guerra mondiale – il Top Secret.
Vale la pena ricordare che si devono a Nicola Tesla (1856-1943) ben 700 brevetti, collegati a tutte le invenzioni pi\u00f9 significative del secolo scorso, come la radio – egli brevett\u00f2 la bobina Tesla e il dispositivo di sintonia radio ben sei anni prima che Marconi brevettasse la prima radio – la lampadina, la corrente alternata, il telegrafo ed il radar.
Basti pensare che era il 1896 quando annunci\u00f2 la scoperta dei raggi cosmici mentre appena quattro anni dopo, nel 1900, formul\u00f2 le basi per la comunicazione wireless.
Ma la sua scoperta pi\u00f9 straordinaria fu l\u2019Energia del Cosmo, che nelle sue intenzioni doveva essere resa disponibile a tutti gratuitamente grazie ad un sistema di trasmissione via etere, basata su di uno strumento in grado di ottenere elettricit\u00e0 a costo zero ricavandola dalle oscillazioni naturali del campo elettrico terrestre.
Secondo la sua teoria, infatti, la Terra stessa costituiva un conduttore naturale che poteva essere utilizzato per indirizzare le onde elettriche emesse da un trasmettitore centrale. Tali onde, nell\u2019ambizioso progetto di Tesla, dovevano poi venir catturate da ricevitori posti ovunque nel pianeta.
A Colorado Springs, vicino a Denver, realizz\u00f2 nel 1899 un trasmettitore \u2013 che funzionava anche da ricevitore – in grado di inviare nell\u2019etere un\u2019onda elettrica per poi riceverla potenziata.
Nel 1943, alla sua morte, gli agenti dell\u2019FBI si impossessarono di tutti i suoi progetti, tra i quali c\u2019era anche una invenzione che poteva venir usata militarmente con effetti devastanti in un raggio di oltre 320 chilometri e che oggi \u00e8 alla base del famigerato progetto HAARP, \u201cHigh Frequency Active Auroral Research Program\u201d, con il quale c\u2019\u00e8 chi sostiene che gli USA stiano progettando nuove armi geofisiche integrali, in grado di influenzare \u2013 grazie ad onde radio ad alta frequenza \u2013 gli elementi naturali e di modificare persino il clima di intere regioni.
Eppure Nikola Tesla, oltre che un geniale precursore dei suoi tempi, era un uomo di pace che dedic\u00f2 tutta la vita al progresso dell\u2019umanit\u00e0. Basti solo ricordare un paio di frasi tratte dai suoi quaderni per rendere giustizia alla sua straordinaria figura e per non dimenticarne la statura:
La scienza non \u00e8 nient’altro che una perversione se non ha come suo fine ultimo il miglioramento delle condizioni dell’ umanit\u00e0\u2026.Il progressivo sviluppo dell’uomo dipende dalle invenzioni. Esse sono il risultato pi\u00f9 importante delle facolt\u00e0 creative del cervello umano. Lo scopo ultimo di queste facolt\u00e0 \u00e8 il dominio completo della mente sul mondo materiale, il conseguimento della possibilit\u00e0 di incanalare le forze della natura cos\u00ec da soddisfare le esigenze umane”.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Ma non sar\u00e0 che c\u2019\u00e8 qualcuno cui fa comodo (far) dimenticare?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

NEWS FROM THE PAST<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

There are events of primary importance, singular as they are in a world literally bombarded by information, that at times that pass us by in silence, or are only reported in a distracted way by the media. This is the case of some recent news literally able to make all readers rightly worried about the increasing cost of energy\u2013 the great 21st Century problem \u2013 leap up in their seats, and who, being concerned about the balance of our planet, hope for recourse to natural and non-polluting sources of energy. Even so, truly very little rightful media space was dedicated to the news, despite the fact that 19 July last, in a hangar of Santa Monica Airport in California and in the presence of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, a vehicle was presented that is in all probability destined to change the face of wheeled transport as we know it today.<\/em>
Tesla Motors presented a powerful sport car able to travel at more than 200 kilometers per hour, and reaching 100 per hour in only 4 seconds. This performance, very respectable if we are talking of a normal sport car, is exceptional seeing that we are looking at a totally electric vehicle with zero emissions (not even a tailpipe), silent, and with a range of about 400 kilometers.<\/em>
The Tesla Car is a project with a budget of over 40 million dollars, and with exceptional sponsors such as Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the fathers of Google. This, by itself, is already newsworthy, but the best is yet to come: the automobile of the future \u2013 first deliveries are slated for mid-2007 \u2013 has roots in the past, harking back to the memory of that extraordinary, but forgotten, personality, Nikola Tesla.<\/em>
In 1931, he first substituted a car\u2019s gasoline engine with an 80-horsepower alternating-current motor, and, what\u2019s more, without external energy or batteries, taking energy from the ether via a circuit with an antenna connected to a box at the front of the vehicle, which, unlike the present Tesla battery car, received energy from a transmitter near Niagara Falls.<\/em>
To whoever asked where the source of energy was, Tesla replied that it was \u201cin the ether around us\u201d. He managed to use the magnetic field that surrounds the Earth and to direct it toward the vehicle, or rather, amplified the energy that is present in the air in order to push it toward a given object. The project was not divulged at the time and this invention \u2013 like some others \u2013 was appropriated upon his death by the government of the United States, which then labeled it Top Secret, as it did with many projects by the talented inventor, it then being the height of the Second World War.<\/em>
It is worth remembering that Nikola Tesla (1856-1943)put his name to no less than 700 patents connected with all the most important inventions of the last century, such as radio \u2013 he patented the Tesla coil and the radio tuning device six years before Marconi patented his first radio \u2013 the light bulb, alternating current, the telegraph and radar.<\/em>
We only have to recall that it was 1896 when he announced the discovery of cosmic rays while only four years later, in 1900, he formulated the basis of wireless communication.<\/em>
But his most extraordinary discovery was the Energy of the Cosmos, that he intended to be made available free to all, thanks to a transmission system via ether and based on an instrument able to obtain zero-cost electricity from the natural oscillations of the terrestrial electrical field.<\/em>
According to his theory, the Earth itself constituted a natural conductor that could be used to direct the electric waves emitted by a central transmitter. Those waves, in Tesla\u2019s ambitious project, would then be captured by receivers placed everywhere around the planet.<\/em>
In 1899, at Colorado Springs, near Denver, he realized a transmitter \u2013 that also functioned as a receiver \u2013 able to send an electric wave into the ether and then receive it back, boosted.<\/em>
When he died, in 1943, FBI agents took possession of all his projects. Among them was an invention that could have devastating military effect over a radius of more than 320 kilometers, and which is today the basis of the famous HAARP project, \u201cHigh Frequency Active Auroral Research Program\u201d. Some say that the USA is planning new integral geophysical weapons, able to influence \u2013 via high-frequency radio waves \u2013 the natural elements and even to modify the climate of entire regions.<\/em>
However, Nikola Tesla, as well as being a brilliant precursor of our times, was a man of peace, who dedicated all his life to the progress of humanity. It is enough to read a couple of phrases taken from his notebooks in order to do justice to his extraordinary figure and thus not forget his stature:<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cScience is but a perversion of itself unless it has as its ultimate goal the betterment of humanity…The progressive development of man is vitally dependent on invention. It is the most important product of his creative brain. Its ultimate purpose is the complete mastery of mind over the material world, the harnessing of the forces of nature to human needs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
