Che qualcosa stia cambiando \u2013 ed anche molto velocemente \u2013 nel nostro mondo \u00e8 sotto gli occhi di tutti. Quello che forse non tutti sono in grado di afferrare appieno sono le linee generali e la direzione in cui questo vorticoso momento storico sta portando il genere umano. O per meglio dire, dove l\u2019umanit\u00e0 sta portando il mondo.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00c8 indubitabile che si stia verificando una intensificazione del fenomeno terrorista da un lato ed una maggiore aggressivit\u00e0 da parte di molte nazioni \u2013 alla spasmodica conquista del controllo delle fonti energetiche – dall\u2019altro. Il concetto sempre pi\u00f9 citato dai media \u2018scontro di civilt\u00e0\u2019 \u00e8 stato coniato a tavolino da Bernard Lewis, membro dell\u2019Arab Bureau, un distaccamento al Cairo del Dipartimento dell\u2019Intelligence britannica nato per promuovere il controllo della Gran Bretagna in Medio Oriente.
Tale concetto \u2013 come si \u00e8 detto, creato ad arte \u2013 fu successivamente enfatizzato giungendo fino ai nostri giorni con pubblicazioni di varie personalit\u00e0 come Samuel Phillips Huntington, che sembrano avere avuto come unico obiettivo quello di fomentare odio e divisioni nel mondo.
Questa strategia si \u00e8 proposta di collegare intenzionalmente \u2013 ed artificiosamente – il terrorismo a confessioni religiose in modo da spingere l\u2019umanit\u00e0 verso un conflitto mondiale tra Islam ed Occidente.
\u00c8 evidente, al tempo stesso, che questa gigantesca menzogna spacciata da governanti e canali di informazione ad interi popoli non pu\u00f2 naturalmente non rispecchiarsi nell\u2019animo di ciascuno di noi, che ci sentiamo afferrati da una spirale di odio in un gioco al rilancio di oltraggi e massacri senza fine da una \u2018parte\u2019 e dall\u2019altra.
\u00c8 altrettanto evidente che l\u2019unica possibile risposta a questo stato di cose \u00e8 quella di iniziare a pensare con la propria testa \u2013 e con il proprio sentimento \u2013 in modo da ribaltare questa catena di cause-effetti che ci vorrebbe vittime di un grande gioco che non pu\u00f2 non condurre l\u2019umanit\u00e0 alla rovina. In altri termini, prendere le notizie provenienti dai media cum grano salis ed imparare a discernere le cause che sottendono determinati avvenimenti esteriori in modo da essere artefici e non vittime della storia.
Fortunatamente, a fronte della situazione inquietante appena delineata \u2013 e forse proprio come elemento equilibratrice dell\u2019attuale difficile momento storico \u2013 sta nascendo una grande attenzione ed interesse in un numero sempre crescente di persone verso le attivit\u00e0 \u2013 spesso neglette e costrette ad operare in condizioni difficili quando non impossibili \u2013 di cooperazione ed aiuto nei confronti dei pi\u00f9 deboli ed indifesi.
In altri termini sembra che per compensare la cecit\u00e0 dei governi e dei politici che appaiono condurre l\u2019umanit\u00e0 verso l\u2019abisso – novelli folli pifferai di Hamelin \u2013 stia nascendo dai singoli, spesso dai pi\u00f9 giovani e meno integrati, una profonda tensione correttiva che pone al primo posto la pace e l\u2019attenzione amorevole nei confronti di chi soffre e necessita di aiuto.
Il proliferare di ONG, fondazioni ed Onlus a livello mondiale \u00e8 un chiaro segno di questa tendenza, che nasce per cos\u00ec dire \u2018dal basso\u2019 e si propone di garantire a tutti il diritto alla sicurezza alimentare – che ad oggi non \u00e8 una priorit\u00e0 di molte delle istituzioni internazionali come il FMI, la Banca Mondiale e l’OMC – di riconoscere una priorit\u00e0 all’agricoltura ed ai territori rurali, di promuovere una reale cooperazione internazionale, riconducendo al tempo stesso le multinazionali entro un quadro definito dalle organizzazioni internazionali ed intergovernative.
Questa grande corrente di pensiero \u2013 e di azione – sta fortunatamente contagiando fasce sempre pi\u00f9 ampie di popolazione, coinvolgendo anche persone tradizionalmente poco inclini a questi ambiti.
Basti pensare alle straordinarie gare di solidariet\u00e0 – impensabili nel passato \u2013 che hanno avuto luogo in particolare in occasione di recenti disastri naturali di grande entit\u00e0.
Personalmente devo dire che \u2013 non pi\u00f9 tardi di un mese fa \u2013 ho avuto la gradita sorpresa di sentirmi chiedere da un manager di successo qualche indicazione per contattare una ONG cui offrire la propria collaborazione. Come? Un manager nato e (molto) cresciuto nel mondo del lusso che vorrebbe andare a lavorare per una \u2018multinazionale del bene\u2019?
Che sta succedendo? Una personalit\u00e0 in vista, che ha avuto tutto dalla vita, improvvisamente sente che per realizzarsi appieno ha bisogno di fare qualcosa di fattivo per gli altri, per quelli che entrano di prepotenza dal televisore mentre ceniamo, laceri, feriti, gli arti disarticolati come bambole rotte, con i ventri gonfi dalla fame o dilaniati dalle bombe dell\u2019ultimo attacco terrorista o dall\u2019ultimo attacco preventivo anti-terrorista\u2026
Che significa? Significa che qualcosa di profondamente vero sta prendendo piede nell\u2019animo di molte persone, che iniziano a comprendere che l\u2019unica risposta alle ingiustizie ed alle sofferenze del mondo non pu\u00f2 che provenire dall\u2019interiorit\u00e0 di ciascuno di noi, di noi che un giorno, magari, ci possiamo svegliare un mattino e dire a noi stessi: \u2018cosa ho fatto io finora per gli altri?\u2019 e decidere di trasformare in bene quello che si presenta come male, intraprendendo una attivit\u00e0 rivolta ad aiutare veramente gli altri, offrendo loro il nostro tempo, le nostre capacit\u00e0, il nostro denaro.
Credo siano questi gli episodi e le tendenze che ci consentono di nutrire speranze per il futuro; senza una prospettiva di questo genere, senza il nascere di un sempre pi\u00f9 diffuso sentimento della necessit\u00e0 di attivarsi con la mente e con il cuore in favore dei meno fortunati, il pifferaio di Hamelin avrebbe facile gioco su di noi, trascinandoci ciecamente verso la rovina.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Before the eyes uf us all is the fact that something is changing \u2013 and very quickly at that \u2013 in our world. Perhaps, what not all of us are fully able to grasp are the general lines and direction in which this dizzying historic moment is taking humankind. Or, rather, where humankind is taking the world. There is an undoubted intensification of terrorist phenomena on the one hand and more aggressivity on the part of many nations \u2013 for the convulsive conquest of control of energy sources \u2013 on the other. The concept which is most frequently cited by the media, \u2018clash of civilizations\u2019, was coined for his purposes by Bernard Lewis, a member of the Arab Bureau, a detachment in Cairo of British Intelligence and created to promote British control in the Mid East.<\/em>
That concept \u2013 as said, created deliberately \u2013 has been hammered home up to the present time in publications by various personalities such as Samuel Phillips Huntington, and that seem to have had the single object of fomenting hate and division in the world.<\/em>
This strategy posited the intentional \u2013 and artificial – connection between terrorism and religious confessions in such a way as to push humanity toward a world conflict between Islam and the West.<\/em>
At the same time, it is evident that this gigantic lie, pumped out by governments and media to entire populations, naturally cannot fail to be reflected in the mind of each of us, feeling that we are gripped in a spiral of hate, in a \u201cgame\u201d of rising bids of outrages and massacres without end, on the one side and the other. It is equally evident that the only possible answer to this state of affairs is to start thinking for ourselves \u2013 and with our own feelings \u2013 in such a way as to upset this chain of cause and effect that seeks to make us victims of a great gamble that cannot avoid leading humanity to ruin. In other words, take the news coming from the media with a grain of salt and learn to recognize the underlying causes of certain \u201csurface\u201d events in order to be history\u2019s makers and not its victims.<\/em>
Fortunately, faced with the worrying situation just set out \u2013 and possibly as an balancing element in the present difficult historical moment\u2013 more and more people are giving increasing attention to and taking interest in the activities of cooperation and help for the most weak and defenseless \u2013 activities which are often neglected and forced to operate in difficult, when not impossible, conditions. In other words, there is apparent compensation for the blindness of the governments and politicians that seem to be leading humanity toward the abyss, the newborn mad Pied Pipers of Hamelin. This is happening among individuals, often the youngest and least integrated, and is a deep corrective tension that gives first place to peace and to loving attention for those who are suffering and in need of help.<\/em>
The proliferation of NGOs, foundations and non-profit organizations on a world level, and born from the grassroots is a clear sign of this. They want to guarantee to all the right of reliable nutrition, something that is not a current priority of many of the international institutions like the IMF, the World Bank, or the WTO, and the recognition of priority to agriculture and rural territories.<\/em>
They seek to promote real international cooperation, at the same time bringing the multinationals within a framework defined by international and intergovernmental organizations.<\/em>
This great current of thought \u2013 and action \u2013 is fortunately infecting ever-wider sectors of the population, also involving people traditionally little inclined toward these spheres.<\/em>
One only has to think of the extraordinary outpouring of solidarity \u2013 unthinkable in the past that has been happening, particularly in connection with recent very large natural disasters.<\/em>
Personally, I must say that \u2013 no more than one month ago \u2013 I had the pleasant surprise of being asked by a successful manager for some information regarding contacts with an NGO to which to offer his collaboration. What is this, a manager born and (highly) bred in the world of luxury who wants to go to work for a \u2018multinational of goodwill\u2019?<\/em>
What is happening? A very visible personality, who has had all that life can offer, suddenly feels that, in order to feel fully realized, he needs to do something effective for others. Those others who force their way onto our TV while we are having dinner, lacerated, injured, with limbs like broken dolls, with bellies swollen by hunger or ripped by the bombs of the latest terrorist attack or the latest preventive anti-terrorist attack…<\/em>
What does this mean? It means that something profoundly true is gaining a footing in the minds of many people who are beginning to understand that the only answer to injustice and suffering in the world cannot but come from inside each one of us. One day, perhaps, we can wake up in the morning and ask ourselves, \u2018What have I done up to now for others?\u2019 and decide to change into good what is apparently bad, taking up an activity directed at really helping others, offering them our time, our capacities, our money.<\/em>
I believe that these events and trends allow us to harbor hope for the future. Without such prospects, without the birth of an everwider of the need to activate the head and the heart on behalf of the less fortunate, the Pied Piper of Hamelin will find us easy prey, drawing us blindly toward ruin.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
