Io sono dunque libero solamente quando produco io stesso queste rappresentazioni, e non quando posso semplicemente dare esecuzione ai motivi che un altro essere ha posto in me.<\/p>\n<p>Un essere libero \u00e8 quello che pu\u00f2 volere ci\u00f2 che egli stesso stima giusto. Chi fa cosa diversa da ci\u00f2 che vuole, deve essere spinto a farla da motivi che non risiedono in lui; e non agisce liberamente.<\/p>\n<p>Poter volere a proprio talento ci\u00f2 che si stima giusto o non giusto, significa dunque: poter a proprio talento essere libero o non libero.<\/p>\n<p><em>Rudolf Steiner (O.O.4)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Frei sein hei\u00dft die dem Handeln zugrunde liegenden Vorstellungen (Beweggr\u00fcnde) durch die moralische Phantasie von sich aus bestimmen k\u00f6nnen. Freiheit ist unm\u00f6glich, wenn etwas au\u00dfer mir (mechanischer Proze\u00df oder nur erschlossener au\u00dferweltlicher Gott) meine moralischen Vorstellungen bestimmt. Ich bin also nur dann frei, wenn ich selbst diese Vorstellungen produziere, nicht, wenn ich die Beweggr\u00fcnde, die ein anderes Wesen in mich gesetzt hat, ausf\u00fchren kann.\u00a0Ein freies Wesen ist dasjenige, welches wollen kann, was es selbst f\u00fcr richtig h\u00e4lt. Wer etwas anderes tut, als er will, der mu\u00df zu diesem anderen durch Motive getrieben werden, die nicht in ihm liegen. Ein solcher handelt unfrei. Nach Belieben wollen k\u00f6nnen, was man f\u00fcr richtig oder nicht richtig h\u00e4lt, hei\u00dft also: nach Belieben frei oder unfrei sein k\u00f6nnen.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Rudolf Steiner (GA4)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">* * *\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To be free means to be able of one&#8217;s own accord to determine by moral imagination those mental pictures (motives) which underlie the action. Freedom is impossible if anything other then myself (mechanical process or merely inferred extra-mundane God) determines my moral ideas. In other words, I am free only when I myself produce these mental pictures, not when I am merely able to carry out the motives which another being has implanted in me. A free being is one who can want what he himself considers right. Whoever does anything other than what he wants must be impelled to it by motives which do not lie within him. Such a man is unfree in his action.
