Dice un vecchio adagio: \u2018chi ha pane non ha denti e chi ha denti non ha pane\u2019.
Un detto che potrebbe adattarsi molto bene, oltre al pane ed ai denti, a tempo e danaro.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Da giovani abbiamo tutti molto tempo, ma non sempre il danaro per fare ci\u00f2 che desideriamo. Per alcuni anni ci possiamo permettere il lusso di sciuparlo (il tempo) per cose pi\u00f9 o meno futili.
Crescendo, poi, diamo credito all\u2019altra massima che collega la nostra vita con il danaro, \u2018il tempo \u00e8 danaro\u2019. Cos\u00ec dedichiamo anni della nostra esistenza al solo scopo di raggiungere il benessere, ritenendolo l\u2019unica chiave per la felicit\u00e0.
Ma un bel giorno ci accorgiamo che con il danaro si pu\u00f2 comprare (quasi) tutto, tranne il tempo.
Il nostro motto quotidiano allora diventa: \u2018non ho tempo per questo\u2026non ho tempo per quello\u2026\u2019.
Troppi impegni, troppe e-mail nella posta, troppe preoccupazioni, troppe telefonate, troppo tutto.
Abbiamo ora il danaro, ma non il tempo per goderne.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Ecco che questa potrebbe essere una buona occasione per capire qualcosa di pi\u00f9 di noi stessi e del mondo ma non siamo in grado di utilizzarla. Eppure abbiamo trovato il modo \u2013 disponendo di sufficiente danaro e di poco tempo \u2013 di impiegare la massima quantit\u00e0 di ricchezza nel minor tempo possibile. Spendere per gli oggetti del desiderio \u00e8 diventato un atto compulsivo, senza una vera esigenza interiore e, spesso, neppure esteriore. Ecco lo show-off, l\u2019abitudine all\u2019ostentazione, all\u2019apparire, il coniugare l\u2019avere ma non l\u2019essere. Il lusso senza stile.
Per non parlare, poi, di quando qualcosa malauguratamente si inceppa in questo inesorabile meccanismo, che so, un rovescio economico, una malattia. Allora ci ribelliamo, esclamiamo: \u2018non credevo che una cosa del genere dovesse capitare proprio a me!\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Se qualcuno ci dicesse dove \u00e8 possibile comprare del tempo saremmo disposti a pagarlo qualsiasi cifra. Ma purtroppo il tempo non \u00e8 in vendita, non fa parte dei beni\u2026di consumo.
Eppure esiste un tempo da \u2018consumare\u2019 ed un tempo da investire, esattamente come il danaro, con una differenza per\u00f2: il primo \u00e8 il tempo esteriore, quello che dedichiamo alla vita di tutti i giorni, al lavoro, alla carriera, al successo, ai piaceri, mentre l\u2019altro \u00e8 il tempo interiore, che dedichiamo alla crescita del nostro s\u00e9, alla cultura, all\u2019arte, ai valori pi\u00f9 profondi della vita. Quest\u2019ultimo, tuttavia, \u00e8 un tempo che non si misura in ore e giorni bens\u00ec in maggiore capacit\u00e0 di comprensione del mondo e di noi stessi.
Se afferriamo ci\u00f2, ci accorgiamo allora che il tempo interiore, se giustamente impiegato, diventa, paradossalmente, uno strumento eccellente per imparare ad utilizzare autenticamente anche il tempo esteriore.
Cos\u00ec il tempo \u2018investito\u2019 ci arricchisce, facendoci guadagnare tempo da non \u2018perdere\u2019, ma da \u2018consumare\u2019 in modo creativo, gratificante.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

TIME AND MONEY<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

An old adage goes, \u201che who has bread lacks teeth and he who has teeth lacks bread\u201d; a saying that could be adapted very well to time and money, as well as to bread and teeth.<\/em>
When we are young, we all have much time but not always the money to do whatever we want. For some years, we can enjoy the luxury of wasting it (time) for things of no great import.<\/em>
Then, growing, we give credit to the other saying that connects our life to money, \u201ctime is money\u201d. Thus we dedicate years of our life to the single aim of achieving wealth, considering it to be the one key to happiness.<\/em>
But one fine day we realize that money can buy us (almost) everything, except time.<\/em>
So, our daily motto becomes: \u201cI don\u2019t have time for this\u2026I don\u2019t have time for that…\u201d.<\/em>
There are too many engagements, too many e-mails in the box, too many worries, too many phone calls, too much everything.<\/em>
Now we have the money, but not the time to enjoy it.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

This could be a good moment to get to understand something more about our world and ourselves, but we are not able to make use of it. And yet we have found the way \u2013 having enough money and not much time \u2013 to make use of the maximum quantity of wealth in the shortest possible time. Spending on objects of desire has become a compulsive act, without a real interior need and, often, not even exterior. Here is the showing-off, the habit of ostentation, of being noticed, conjugating the verb \u201cto have\u201d but not \u201cto be\u201d. Luxury without style.<\/em>
Not to mention what happens when something unfortunately goes wrong in this inexorable mechanism, let\u2019s say, an economic disaster, an illness. Then we rebel, exclaiming, \u201cI didn\u2019t think such a thing could happen to me!\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

If someone told us where we could buy time, we would be ready to pay anything. But regrettably time is not for sale; it is not on the list of\u2026consumer goods.<\/em>
And yet there is time we can \u2018consume\u2019 and time we can invest, exactly like money, but with a difference: the first is exterior time, that we dedicate to everyday life, to work, our career, success, pleasure, while the other is interior time, that we dedicate to the growth of our self, to culture, art, the deeper values of life. This last, however, is time that is not measured in hours and days so much as in greater understanding of the world and ourselves.<\/em>
If we catch on to this, we then realize that interior time, if used well, becomes, paradoxically, an excellent instrument for learning and also using exterior time well.<\/em>
Thus time \u2018invested\u2019 enriches us, allowing us to gain time, not to \u2018waste\u2019, but to \u2018consume\u2019 in a creative, gratifying way.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
