Chi teme la morte \u00e8 gi\u00e0 morto.<\/p>\n
Chi vuol aver un attimo solo sua la sua vita, esser un attimo solo persuaso di ci\u00f2 che fa \u2013 deve impossessarsi del presente; vedere ogni presente come l\u2019ultimo, come se fosse certa dopo la morte: e nell\u2019oscurit\u00e0 crearsi da s\u00e9 la vita.<\/p>\n
A chi ha la sua vita nel presente, la morte nulla toglie; poich\u00e9 niente in lui chiede pi\u00f9 di continuare; niente \u00e8 in lui per la paura della morte \u2013 niente \u00e8 cos\u00ec perch\u00e9 cos\u00ec \u00e8 dato a lui dalla nascita come necessario alla vita. E la morte non toglie che ci\u00f2 che \u00e8 nato. Non toglie che quello che ha gi\u00e0 preso dal d\u00ec che uno \u00e8 nato, che perch\u00e9 nato vive della paura della morte; che vive per vivere, vive perch\u00e9 vive \u2013 perch\u00e9 \u00e8 nato. \u2013 Ma chi vuol aver la sua vita non deve credersi nato, e vivo, soltanto perch\u00e9 \u00e8 nato \u2013 n\u00e9 sufficiente la sua vita, da esser cos\u00ec continuata e difesa dalla morte.<\/p>\n

He who fears death is already dead.<\/span><\/p>\n He who for one instant wants his life to be his, only for an instant to be persuaded of what he does, must take possession of the present, to see every present as the last, as if death were certain afterward, <\/em>and to create his own life by himself in the obscurity. Death takes nothing from him who has his life in the present, because nothing in him asks to continue any longer; nothing in him exists merely through the fear of death\u2014nothing is merely because it was given by birth as necessary to life. <\/em>And death takes nothing but what is born. It takes nothing but what it took on the very day one was born, the one who, because he was born, lives in fear of death, for the sake of living, because he lives\u2014because he was born.
